Trading, vetoing etc.

Come here to check out who's on the block, who's getting traded, and who's upset that their trade got vetoed.

Trading, vetoing etc.

Postby segathonsov » Mon Apr 04, 2011 1:50 pm

Are we just going to run this the same way as HSTL? I'd recommend having the commish TecmoBo approving all trades. That vetoing by other member seems to cause league dissension sometimes and since we are on the noob side of things and a small league it may run a little smoother with the commish approving them. Plus Tecmbo seems pretty knowledgeable and a fair guy. Got to go, my nose it getting brown

I agree just have one alternate for trades involving the commish. :)

Yeah I heard some pretty bad stories about what went on with some HSTL trades, and I wasn't too impressed that some vets vetoed trades for one reason and other vets vetoed them for the exact opposite reason lol.

Based on some of the picks in this draft I think having a leaguewide vote on each trade wouldn't be wise either

If most people are fine with me being the approver/vetoer then I think that is the best way to go about it. My plan is to restrict the number of trades each team can initiate (meaning each team could have two trades maximum) but have a wider margin for "acceptable" trades.

I like the restricting idea because it encourages a team to identify their weaknesses and trade for that position rather than just trading with the idea of addressing it "later." It also allows the vetoer to be more lenient knowing that a team can't have a bunch of lopsided trades.

EDIT: And Kulseic is right, there needs to be an alternate if I trade. I nominate Sega since he easily was the best drafter last year out of all of us still in the league, and maybe out of everyone in general.

Yeah that was a bad pick. I really thought the LBs would go quick but they didn't. Plus the draft was hard to predict who was going to take what.

I think I may do a little draft recap whens it's over. Right now You, Shiny, Kulsiec and Techmoblie are in the running for best draft.

That would be cool. I'm also looking forward to a some preseason predictions from the famed Crystal Ball. :P

The Crystal Ball sees all, but also tells a lot of lies.....

I'd say I would put my name in as an alternate to allow or decline trades but I tend to allow ALL trades unless there is clear collusion or a clear rip off.
