Falcons @ Panthers

A game of halves for a few reasons.

The Panthers kicked off the game and their D wouldn't give the Falcons a break and stopped them on 4 straight deep in Panthers territory. A quick TD and the Falcons get the ball back.

The Falcons are still being stuffed and a dropped pass on 4th down and we are in deja vu mode.

This time the Falcons D bends but doesn't break and it's 10-0 Panthers.

The rest of the half the Falcons D was able to match the Panthers D and the half ended with the Panthers up 10-0 and both teams had a combined 100 offensive yards.

The Panthers recieve to start the 2nd half looking to put the game out of control for the offensive inept Falcons. A few plays in and star RB Arian Foster goes down. Prior to the injury Foster was the only offensive playmaker doing anything for Carolina.

The Falcons smelled blood and the D went into hyper mode and the Panthers punted. The Falcons moved downfield after benching rookie QB Sam Bradford for the on again Falcons QB Brunnell. a few plays in and Mendenhall punches the rock into the endzone to make it 7-10 Panthers.

On the next opening kick off the Panthers new RB and return man goes down to injury and of their 2 remaining RBs only one isn't in bad. QB Orton also is in bad at this point along with a few WRs for the Panthers.

The Falcons D stalls the Panthers again and Brunnell would go to work. On a 3rd down still down in the 4th quarter Brunnell heaves it up for the JJ Completion that would set up the eventual Mendenhall TD to go up 14-10 which would be the end score.

GG HBK, very defensive minded game and it very well would have gone the other way without the injuries /and/or conditions causing havoc.
