Holy Cross 7, Pittsburgh 0

Postby BadMoonRison » Tue Feb 03, 2009 6:54 am

Holy Cross Crusaders - 7
Pittsburgh Panthers - 0

Holy Cross pitches its second shutout of the season and ninth in school history as they win an ugly 7-0 game. The only score of the game came on a second quarter TD pass to TE Demond Archer.

For Holy Cross, both RB Daryl Abelard and QB Bryce Mays went into bad. RB Len Mantooth, who was in good, was injured in the second quarter.

Pitt blocked a Holy Cross FG that would have put them ahead 10-0.

Mays threw an interception to 75 INT DB Forest Johnson, giving the Panthers excellent field position, but RB LeSean McCoy coughed it up.

Neither team could really get anything going on offense all game. It was a struggle-fest, but an exciting affair nonetheless.

Pitt fumbles hte ball in H.C.'s endzone in what looked like it should have been 7. We should look at incorporating instant replay as I believe the ball crossed the plain of the EndZone before it was jarred loose:)

GO STEELERS!
