Colts 28, Chiefs 6

Postby uwwjman5 » Thu Apr 02, 2009 4:08 am

The Chiefs were coming off a resounding Week 2 win over the Saints, and admirably elected to get caught up by immediately playing their Week 1 game against the Colts. This might've been a decision they regret, as the Chiefs looked somewhat sluggish in this one.

After the Chiefs won the toss and elected to kick, the Colts handed it early and often to their workhorse, Marion Barber, but a fumble on a completed pass to Hightower derailed drive #1. The Chiefs got down to the Colts 10, but could get no further as they opted for a 3-0 lead.

The Colts struck back with a lengthy drive that ended with a Marion Barber 13-yd scamper for a 7-3 lead. After forcing a punt, Barber once again found the endzone in the 2nd qtr and that 14-3 score would take us to half.

In the 3rd, the Colts once again forced a punt, and Rivers connected for his 1st TD pass of the year, a long one to an uncovered Marvin Pussison, I mean Harrison. Rivers on the day would post a perfect passer rating, mostly because he only threw 7 passes, completing 6.

The Colts were a bit surprised when the Chiefs opted for a field goal towards the end of the 3rd qtr, which made the score 21-6, instead of going on 4th down at the Colts 8 yd line. At this point, I'm still not sure what the thinking there was. The Colts would tack on another score towards the end, a CC to Holt that I quickly apologized for, as the game was in hand and I was simply picking pass because I figured he was solely reading run.

GG, Yimme. Keep running the ball with Brown (and consider McFadden as your RB1, cuz he's a bitch to bring down), and you'll be fine.

31HP tough to bring down? Methinks you're the proud owner of a very large vagina.

He is technically the highest paid RB on his team at $250k. Wowsers.

I love how everyone uses tecmo BS as an excuse for losing (myself included). That's part of the game...it sucks, but some people rage over it...

I bet it all balances out...we've all won on BS, but you don't hear a lot of people making a big deal out of that...

BS or not, I just don't enjoy a game filled with fumbles very much, no satisfaction from winning because my opponent lost them and hate losing a game because of it...especially when I have games like that back-to-back. I don't mind if it's on a called play, but I hate when it's on a routine run and not even from a dive tackle.

BS sometimes allows lesser players to compete with some of the better players...luck and randomness are two things that can keep the same person from winning the title every year.

Obviously noone likes the randomness when it happens to them, but I think its place in Tecmo...
